Why choose to climb with a guide or instructor? Our fully qualified climbing team understand these areas well and know where to take clients based on their level, the time of day or year. During warmer months, we like to climb in shady spots. Our team also come equipped with local knowledge and will get you to the right crags – some of which are tricky to find, even with a guide book.
As climbers, from time to time we find ourselves climbing just inside our comfort zone and level; however choosing to climb with the assistance of an instructor will assist you with bringing your climbing skills on to the next level. We will also be able to iron out some of those bad habits and work on techniques that you’re either struggling with, or are even yet to discover. Or, perhaps you want to focus on rope work, or further hone your skills with lead or trad climbing equipment – our experienced, fully qualified instructors will ensure that you leave our course an all round better climber.
Typically, we pick you up from our agreed meeting point in the morning and together head to the crag. All you need to bring equipment wise is your own climbing shoes and suitable footwear to approach the climbing areas, which sometimes can involve a short hike in. We will supply the rest, unless you prefer to bring your own harness etc. The climbing day’s duration will last around 6-8 hours, including some breaks as and when needed. Make sure you bring plenty of water and a packed lunch with you.
We cater for all disciplines including simple top rope, lead sport climbing routes and trad (traditional) climbing. Most of the climbing around Andalucia is on limestone, with impressive rock formations set against sea and/or majestic mountainous backdrops. Bolonia is a particularly pretty and quiet spot with the continent of Africa clearly visible across the sea, offering north, west and south facing climbing areas. While Grazalema, an east facing climbing area, sits next to the gorgeous white village of the same name, visited by tourists from all over the world. We often have the climbing area here to ourselves however.
